Why did you choose to specialize in gastroenterology?

The complex physiology of the gastrointestinal tract has always fascinated me. Practicing gastroenterology allows physicians to help patients both in the office with complex medical conditions as well as procedurally with endoscopies or colonoscopies. I have found it very rewarding to see patients feel better after medical or endoscopic treatments.

What are your areas of special interest and expertise within gastroenterology?

I enjoy seeing patients with a variety of gastrointestinal complaints. A large part of my practice is concentrated on colorectal cancer screening, acid reflux, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Do you have any special honors, recognition, or achievements in your medical career that you would like to share?

I received the American Gastroenterology Association Resident Reporter Award and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease Resident Scholar Travel Award. I have done research in Hepatitis C at the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C and have been fortunate to present my research at national and international meetings. The executive director of the Center won a Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2020. Additionally, I have published over 15 articles and abstracts. I am currently a Clinical Instructor in Gastroenterology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.

What do you and your family enjoy doing during your spare time?

My family and I live in Westchester County, but spend time in New York City as well. On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching youth sports, playing tennis, and skiing during the winter.
