The MELODY Trial (Modulating Early Life MicrObiome through Prenatal Dietary Intervention in Crohn’s Disease) of Mount Sinai Hospital is excited to be teaming up with NYGA to recruit pregnant patients with Crohn’s Disease for this research project.
The MELODY Trial is investigating how a diet change in the third trimester of pregnancy may influence an expectant mom’s microbiome and the microbiome of her baby. The microbiome plays an important role in early immune development, and by changing the maternal microbiome during pregnancy through diet, we hope to be able to promote healthier immune system development in babies born to mothers with Crohn’s Disease. If you are interested in participating in the MELODY Trial, please email themelodytrial@gmail.com or speak to your NYGA doctor at your next appointment!
