Welcomes East River Gastroenterology & Nutrition

We are delighted to announce that Eric Goldstein, MD, Tamara Duker Freuman, MS, RD, CDN, and medical assistants Michelle Farrell and Imani Gonzalez of East River Gastroenterology & Nutrition (East River) have joined New York Gastroenterology Associates, effective March 1, 2021. They will see patients in NYGA’s 86th Street office.

Dr. Goldstein founded East River in 2007 and is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is highly regarded for diagnosing and treating challenging digestive disorders, and for performing a wide array of in-office diagnostic tests designed to evaluate a wide variety of gastrointestinal motility and other digestive diseases. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he completed medical school, residency, and fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he maintains clinical privileges and serves as a clinical instructor.

Ms. Freuman joined East River in 2010 and is a renowned digestive nutrition expert. Her clinical practice focuses on the dietary management of digestive and metabolic diseases, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), and celiac disease. Author of the highly acclaimed “The Bloated Belly Whisperer,” her nutrition advice has been featured in national online radio and print media. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed clinical training at Mount Sinai Hospital. She also graduated summa cum laude from Duke University and completed a Master’s of Science degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
