Abnormal Liver Tests

Home » Conditions » Abnormal Liver Tests

If your blood tests show abnormal liver tests, this can be due to various reasons, including underlying liver disease, medications, fatty liver, infection, etc. Most people do not have symptoms, but it can include dark urine, light-colored stools, yellowing of the eyes or skin, abdominal pain, pruritus. The etiology for the abnormal liver tests should be further investigated with blood tests, radiologic tests of the liver including ultrasound, fibroscan, CT scan or MRI, and sometimes a liver biopsy may be indicated.
