About NYGA
New York Gastroenterology Associates (NYGA) is a premier independent gastroenterology practice serving the New York City region for over 25 years.
Patients First Approach
While we are recognized as leading GI experts, we also deliver patient care that is attentive, personalized, and compassionate.
We commit to providing you with treatment that is effective, efficient, timely, and affordable.
Clinical Excellence
Our board-certified gastroenterologists are exceptionally trained and nationally recognized. We combine the most advanced ideas, tools, and techniques in gastroenterology with a personalized approach to your medical care. We are leading specialists in the prevention and early detection of cancer of the digestive tract, nutrition, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and women’s digestive health.
Consistent, Dedicated Leadership
Being a leading medical practice means attracting an extraordinary team of diverse, talented doctors. It means continually striving for excellence. It means achieving regional, national, and international recognition.
At NYGA, leadership also means partnering with leading institutions—such as Mount Sinai, our partner at our two state-of-art outpatient endoscopy centers. It means establishing close professional relationships with leading experts in gastroenterology and affiliated fields from around the region and country so that the right referral or the best answer to your problem is one phone call away.
Leadership also means being at the intellectual forefront. Our doctors are recognized thought leaders in the field of gastroenterology. Physicians across the tristate area often refer their most complex patients to NYGA. We undertake clinical investigations into upcoming GI treatments. Our doctors lecture and write widely, and conduct leading-edge research. We attract top recent graduates from the best training programs and we train the next generation of GI leadership.
At NYGA, leadership also means leveraging technology and communications to streamline your care. We strive to move you efficiently through our care and to communicate with you clearly and promptly. We respect your time while we care for your health. Leadership also means availability: an NYGA physician is on call 24/7 for emergencies; we offer same-day appointments during all weekdays; and NYGA physicians remained available and our endoscopy centers remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Heritage
Our founding doctors studied with the students of Burrill B. Crohn, MD, the pioneering gastroenterologist who first identified what became known as Crohn’s disease.
We studied and worked with Dr. Jerome Waye, the innovator of endoscopy and colonoscopy in America.
We are part of the Henry D. Janowitz Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Hospital, which is perennially ranked in the top ten nationally.
Leveraging this heritage, we achieve the highest standard of care for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and endoscopic prevention of gastrointestinal tract cancer, among other conditions.
Technology Leadership
At NYGA, we are use state of the art, digital, high-definition endoscopy equipment. We offer patient-friendly telehealth services, which allows you to have a one-on-one video consultation with one of our GI experts without leaving your home.
We also offer a private, online patient portal. This allows you to review your test results and a summary of your visit immediately. It allows you to communicate directly with your doctor, without navigating a phone system or an assistant.
We use a state-of-the-art electronic medical record, which ensures patient privacy, seamless documentation, and real-time communication with your team of physicians, or outside testing facilities.
